This Hawaiian inspired burger has a twist with an added slice of grilled pineapple and onions. The avocado topping adds that extra flavor to tantalize the tastebuds. Enjoy!
Combine ground turkey and burger ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Form into two patties and set them aside.
½ lb. lean ground turkey, ⅛ C onion, 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce, ¼ tsp sriracha, ¼ tsp ginger, ¼ tsp salt
While the grill is preheating, prepare the avocado sauce by blending the ingredients in a mini food processor until it is a smooth paste consistency. Set aside.
1 avocado, ⅛ C avocado salad dressing
When the grill is ready, brush the pineapple rings and onions with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and place on the grill. Add the turkey burgers and grill all ingredients for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Remove the pineapple and onions and continue to cook the turkey burgers for a few more minutes or until they are not pink inside. They should have an internal temperature of 165℉. Toast the buns for 1-2 minutes.
4 pineapple rings, 1/2 red onion
Prepare burgers by placing them on a bun topped with the avocado spread, onions, and pineapple. Serve with a tossed green salad dressed in the extra avocado dressing. Enjoy this fun twist on an American classic.
