Homemade Greek Yogurt

Homemade Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt has become a favorite treat for me. I love topping it with fresh fruit and my homemade granola. I have tried different store bought brands over the years. However, this time I decided to make a homemade Greek style yogurt and I love how easy it is to make. Give it a try and see if this recipe becomes your go to yogurt.

Ingredients
- 4 cups whole milk or milk alternative
- 6 oz plain Greek yogurt
Instructions
- Whisk or use a hand blender to blend together the yogurt ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Mix until the ingredients are well blended and creamy.4 cups whole milk, 6 oz plain Greek yogurt
- Pour the ingredients into the yogurt container of your yogurt machine. Follow the cooking instructions according to your brand of yogurt machine for Greek yogurt.
- Once your yogurt is finished in the machine, prepare to strain the ingredients by lining a fine mesh strainer with 1 or 2 paper coffee filters or cheese cloth. Fill the paper lined strainer with the yogurt and drain.
- Serve immediately or store for up to 3 days in your refrigerator. Top the yogurt with your favorite fruit, granola, vanilla, or favorite topping. Enjoy!
Notes
I have the Cuisinart yogurt maker and followed my instruction manual to make my Greek yogurt. Each machine will have it’s unique settings and instructions for cooking Greek yogurt. You should be able to find a recipe in your provided recipe book or follow my recipe above. Enjoy!
